A skinhead is a member of a subculture that originated among youths in London, England in the 1960s and then soon spread to other parts of the England, and later to other countries around the world. Named for their skinheads were greatly influenced by British mods, in terms of fashion, music and lifestyle. Originally, the skinhead subculture was primarily based on those elements, not politics or race. Since then, however, attitudes toward race and politics have and in some cases are more racist. The style of the skin head is clean shaved heads, and they tend to wear higher boots, tighter jeans, tattoo have been popular in the skinhead subculture since at least the 1970s revival. In 1980s Britain, some skinheads had tattoos on their faces.
